Amnet Success Stories
As one of WA's fastest growing ISP's and as a division of Amcom, we are uniquely positioned to offer employees a diverse range of career opportunities. We are constantly promoting from within to fulfill the resource needs of our growth. So no matter what position you start in you always have the chance to advance or learn new skills in a different field.
Highlighted below are success stories of staff who have rapidly grown their careers within Amnet/Amcom.

Chris Liebetrau – Amnet Marketing
After a brief stint working overseas following the completion of his business degree, Chris started at Amcom aged 22 in a sales capacity. In his year as a sales executive Chris built up a wealth of knowledge in solutions development, networking, IT and the telecommunications industry. With a bachelor’s degree in marketing, Chris was always interested in furthering his career in marketing. When an opportunity arose in our marketing department he jumped at the prospect.
As the Marketing Assistant, Chris was responsible for the marketing activities of Amcom’s consumer division Amnet. His role has allowed him to develop his skills and marketing acumen and was recently promoted to Marketing Coordinator. After a few years at Amcom, Chris’ move into marketing has been the highlight of his working career.
Chris believes Amcom’s growth has given him responsibility he would otherwise not have had, as a result allowing him to mature and develop. “When I started at Amcom we only had about 50 full time staff. Just a few years later we employ over 130 full time staff and that’s growing every day.” “As an employee it’s really exciting because you know you have the chance to develop since you can move within the organisation”, he commented.

Jeremy Morton – Amcom Networks
Starting in Amnet's DSL Provisioning in 2005, Jeremy worked with customers and internal staff to arrange connection of new ADSL Broadband services. By maintaining and improving upon knowledge gained from tertiary studies, he accepted an opportunity to join Amcom’s Fibre provisioning team in mid-2006.
This move provided Jeremy with a much deeper understanding of Amcom’s fibre network and the process involved in bringing online new services. After expressing an interest in moving towards the operational side of the network, Jeremy was promoted to the position of Speedlink Connections Engineer in mid-2007.
The position enabled Jeremy to use skills obtained in his studies at TAFE, as well as to learn how to operate and maintain Amcom infrastructure. He is responsible for connecting new Ethernet-based services to the Amcom fibre network, including Internet connections, as well as assisting the Network Support staff when necessary.
“Having been in three separate departments of Amcom, I have met many staff who have recognised my forte in networking and encouraged me to look for career progression within the company. There’s a certain good feeling you get from moving up. The best part is that you are still in the same company as all of the staff you were previously working with. You don’t get that if you leave and go to another company – and why would you – they’re such a great bunch to work with!”
“With the growing number of new customers to bring online, the job provides an excellent challenge where records can be set and beaten. And record-breaking is a culture of Amcom, from DSL orders processed to Fibre customers connected.”
