• Amnet BDSL is advertised as a true SHDSL service, what is SHDSL?

  SHDSL stands for Symmetrical High-speed Digital Subscriber Line and offers speeds up to 2Mbps/2Mbps. It is delivered over a dedicated copper line from the nearest exchange.

• Does Amnet test my lines prior to order, to determine what speed I can achieve?

  Yes, Amnet sales executives will always complete a Service Qualification (SQ) on your business line to determine what service speed is applicable. We only sell a service we guarantee we can deliver, which is why we guarantee the speed we are able to deliver.

• How long does it take to connect a BDSL service?

  Connection of the service is subject to further service availability checks, however Amnet typically connects services withing 21 business days.

• What is the delivery protocol for Amnet BDSL?

  Amnet BDSL requires PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE) protocol for the end customer equipment.

• Does Amnet BDSL have an Service Level Agreemnet (SLA) included?

  Yes, Amnet's BDSL SLA covers the following:

  • Service Delivery - 21 working days
  • Service Coverage - 8 hours x 5 days a week
  • Response Time - 60 minutes for faults
  • Target % Service Availability - 99.80%
  • Target Restoration - 48 hours (Business days only)

• What interface is the service terminated on?

  Business SHDSL is terminated on a 10 Base T Full Duplex Copper RJ 45.

• What equipment does a BDSL service require?

  Amnet's BDSL service requires an SHDSL compatible modem with a two wire SHDSL interface and requires that a routed / Layer 3 device be connected to this service for configuration purposes. Amnet supports NetComm NB714 modems.

• To which BDSL customers is Amnet's Additional Allowance purchase service available?

  Amnet's Additional Allowance purchase service is only available to BDSL customers paying by direct debit and credit card.
